Black-hooded Thrush, Turdus olivater, is a thrush of South America, breeding from Colombia to southern Guyana. It lives in humid montane forest, secondary growth and shade coffee plantations, and in Colombia it also uses scrubland. The species has a patchy range across isolated mountain areas and tepuis. Adult males of the nominate form show a dark hood and upper breast with a yellow eye-ring, while females are browner-headed with buff markings. The species was first described by Lafresnaye in 1848.
