Black-legged Seriema, Chunga burmeisteri, is a seriema of South America, breeding from southern Bolivia and western Paraguay to Argentina. It belongs to the family Cariamidae and the order Cariamiformes, and was described by Hartlaub in 1860. It is the only living species in its genus. The bird has a long neck and tail, and its legs are black. Its underparts are yellowish-white, and young birds show stronger patterning on the head, neck and back. It is known to breed in November and December, making a stick platform nest and laying two white eggs.
