Black-lored Babbler, Turdoides sharpei, is a bird of eastern Africa, recorded in south-western Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the neighbouring part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It belongs to the family Leiothrichidae. Adults can be recognised by their pale yellow or white eyes and the black skin between the eye and bill, which sets them apart from similar babblers apart from Turdoides melanops. The plumage is mainly grey-brown with white mottling, especially below, and birds from around Nanyuki may be darker, sometimes with a white chin or throat. It lives low down in dense woody cover, including cultivated areas.
