Black-naped Oriole

Oriolus flavocinctus

The Black-naped Oriole is a medium-sized bird found in Southeast Asia. It has a striking yellow body with a black nape and wings, and a bright red beak. This species is known for its melodious and flute-like song, often heard in forested areas and urban parks. Black-naped Orioles are skilled at catching insects in mid-air and are also known to feed on fruits. They build their nests in the canopy of trees using grass, leaves, and other plant materials. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and deforestation pose potential threats to their populations.
