Black-necked Aracari, Pteroglossus aracari, is a toucan from north-eastern and eastern South America, with a breeding range in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela. It is a member of the family Ramphastidae and was first described by Linnaeus in 1758. The species is found in semi-open country, including forest edges and clearings, secondary growth, woodland, cerrado, gallery forest and fruit-tree plantations. It is a year-round resident. Three subspecies are recognised, and the female has a shorter bill than the male.
