Black-nest Swiftlet, Aerodramus maximus, is a swift in the family Apodidae that breeds in the Malay Peninsula and the Greater Sundas. It is part of the Oriental Region’s avifauna. Its saliva provides one of the chief materials used to make edible nests for bird’s nest soup. Described by Hume in 1878, it belongs to the order Apodiformes.
