The White-tailed Swallow (Psalidoprocne pristoptera) is a medium-sized swallow found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is characterized by its striking white tail feathers, contrasting with its dark blue-black upperparts and white underparts. These agile birds are often seen in flight, darting and swooping over open grasslands and savannas in search of flying insects, their primary food source. They build cup-shaped mud nests in cavities of buildings or cliffs and are known for their acrobatic aerial displays during courtship. The White-tailed Swallow is a common species with a stable population and is not currently considered at risk.
