Black Saw-wing, Psalidoprocne pristoptera, is a swallow in the family Hirundinidae and breeds widely across Africa. It is found in open wooded country, especially where conditions are wetter, and some races also use mountain grassland. The species is mainly resident, though some populations make local or height-related movements, and one southern race is migratory. It is a small bird with a forked tail and dark plumage with a blue sheen. Females have shorter outer tail feathers and less marked wing serrations, while young birds are browner and less glossy.
