Black Sicklebill, Epimachus fastosus, is a bird of paradise in the montane forests of western to south-central New Guinea, including north-western and north-central coastal ranges. It was described by Hermann in 1783. Its breeding range lies in Australasia. The species is part of the family Paradisaeidae and the order Passeriformes. It is a large bird of paradise, and the male is notable for its long, silver, slightly downcurved bill and the striking pectoral fans used in display. The female is less ornate, with a long tail and barred underparts.
