Black-striped Woodcreeper, Xiphorhynchus lachrymosus, is a passerine of the Furnariidae found in Middle America and South America from eastern Nicaragua to north-west Ecuador. It is a resident bird of humid lowland forest, especially evergreen forest, and also uses mangroves in some places. It is most often associated with the interior of tall mature forest, though it also occurs at forest edges and gaps, in older secondary growth, and sometimes in tree plantations. Its plumage pattern of pale buff and black streaking is distinctive among woodcreepers, and the sexes look alike.
