Black-tailed Antbird, Myrmoborus melanurus, is a bird of western Amazonia in South America, recorded from Brazil, Colombia and Peru. It lives in seasonally flooded varzea forest beside waterways and oxbow lakes, where it keeps to dense tangles of vines and other growth close to water. This antbird is a year-round resident. It was first described in 1866 by Philip Sclater and Osbert Salvin, and later placed in Myrmoborus. The species is monotypic and is linked as a sister species to the White-lined Antbird.
