Black-throated Accentor

Prunella atrogularis

The Black-throated Accentor is a small passerine bird found in mountainous regions of Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive black throat and chestnut-brown plumage. This species is known for its melodious song and agile foraging behavior, often hopping and flitting among rocks and shrubs in its alpine habitat. Black-throated Accentors primarily feed on insects, spiders, and seeds. They are known to breed in open areas with scattered vegetation, often near streams or rocky outcrops. While their populations are currently stable, they may face threats from habitat degradation and climate change.
