Black-throated Bushtit

Aegithalos concinnus

The Black-throated Bushtit is a small, lively bird found in East Asia. It has a distinctive black throat patch, white underparts, and olive-brown upperparts. These sociable birds are often seen in small flocks as they forage for insects and berries in scrubland, bamboo thickets, and forest edges. Their cup-shaped nests are intricately woven from moss and lichen, often hanging from the tips of branches. The Black-throated Bushtit is known for its high-pitched calls and acrobatic flight patterns. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future concerns for this species.
