Black-throated Finch, Poephila cincta, is a bird of north-east Queensland in eastern Australia, where it lives in grassy open woodland and forest near water. It is a passerine in the Estrildidae family. The species is marked by a short black bill, black lores and throat, and a pale grey head set off by a clear boundary. Its wings, breast and belly are pale pinkish brown, the tail is black, and the rump is black in northern birds and white in southern ones. It was described by Gould in 1837.
