Setophaga nigrescens
The Black-throated Gray Warbler is a small, migratory songbird found in western North America. It is known for its striking black throat and gray plumage, with white wing bars and a yellow spot above the eye. This warbler is often found in coniferous and mixed woodlands, where it forages for insects and spiders in the foliage. During the breeding season, it builds its cup-shaped nest in shrubs or trees. This species undertakes a long migration to winter in Mexico and Central America. Although not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and climate change may impact its future populations.
