Black-throated prinia

Prinia atrogularis

The Black-throated prinia is a small passerine bird found in South and Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive black throat and white belly. This species is known for its melodious and repetitive song, often heard in dense grasslands and scrub habitats. Black-throated prinias are insectivorous and forage by hopping and flitting through the undergrowth. They build dome-shaped nests with a side entrance, typically low in shrubs or grass. The species is not currently considered threatened, but habitat loss and degradation pose potential future risks.
