The Black-throated Sparrow is a small, striking bird found in arid and semi-arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It has a distinctive black throat patch, white eyebrow stripe, and grayish-brown plumage. This species is known for its melodious song and can often be found perched on shrubs or cacti. Black-throated Sparrows are ground foragers, feeding on seeds, insects, and small fruits. They build cup-shaped nests in low shrubs or cacti, and their populations are generally stable despite some localized threats.
