Black-throated Toucanet

The Black-throated Toucanet is a medium-sized toucan found in the montane forests of South America. It has a black head and throat, a green body, and a distinctive yellow chest patch. This species is known for its vibrant colors and large, colorful bill. Black-throated Toucanets are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits, but they may also consume insects and small vertebrates. They are often seen in small flocks, moving through the forest canopy in search of food. These toucanets play an important role in seed dispersal within their habitat.
