Black-throated Wren, Pheugopedius atrogularis, is a bird of Middle America, breeding from Nicaragua to Panama in the wren family Troglodytidae. It was described by Salvin in 1865. It lives in lowland and foothill forest, with a strong link to second growth and water. The species was once grouped with the sooty-headed wren, but it is now treated separately. It is a monotypic species. Its known range has also been recorded in Costa Rica, and more recently in northern Nicaragua and eastern Honduras.
