Black-vented Oriole, Icterus wagleri, is a passerine of the family Icteridae, breeding from Mexico south to Nicaragua in Middle America. It was first described by Sclater in 1857. The species is split into two subspecies, with the northern form occurring in north-western Mexico and the nominate race ranging through central and southern Mexico into Central America. It lives in dry scrub, pine-oak woodland, semi-deciduous and deciduous forest, and gallery forest, and it also makes elevational and local movements linked to flowering trees.
