Black-winged Lovebird, Agapornis taranta, is a parrot of montane Eritrea and Ethiopia in Africa. It belongs to the Old World parrots and was described by Stanley in 1814. In its range it is a mainly green bird, and the adult male is set apart by a red forehead and red feathers around the eyes. The female lacks this red head pattern and remains green-headed. It is the largest lovebird, and both sexes have a red bill and grey feet.
