Blackcap Babbler, Turdoides reinwardtii, is a passerine of west and west-central Africa and belongs to the laughingthrush family, Leiothrichidae. It breeds from Senegal to Cameroon and is a resident bird there. It lives in thick scrub and forest. The bird is noted for its dark grey-brown upperparts, brownish black head, white throat and clear white eye ring. Its underparts are white, with mottling on the breast and buff on the flanks. It nests in trees, placing a cup-shaped nest among dense foliage, and usually lays two or three eggs.
