Blackish Chat-Tyrant, Ochthoeca nigrita, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family found in western Venezuela, where it breeds in the Andes. It is a resident bird of humid mountain country, especially dense growth beside streams in steep ravines and nearby montane forest. Adults are almost wholly slate black, marked by a white line running from above the lores to behind the eye. The sexes look alike. The species was first described in 1871 and is monotypic. Juveniles show a narrower white mark, with paler rufous on the upperparts and browner underparts.
