Blossom-headed Parakeet, Psittacula roseata, is a resident breeder in the Oriental Region of south-east Asia, with a range that extends through eastern Bangladesh, Bhutan, north-east India, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and China. It was described by Biswas in 1951 and belongs to the family Psittaculidae in the order Psittaciformes. It is a lime-green parrot, and the head colour is a key feature for telling it apart from the plum-headed parakeet. Two subspecies are recognised, roseata from West Bengal to Bangladesh and juneae from north-east India and North Myanmar to Indochina.
