Blue-breasted Cordonbleu

Uraeginthus angolensis

The Blue-breasted Cordonbleu is a small, colorful bird native to the woodlands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa. This species is known for its vibrant blue and chestnut plumage, with a distinctive black face mask and bright red bill. They are social birds, often found in small flocks foraging for grass seeds and insects. The male's courtship display involves puffing up his feathers and performing a bobbing dance to attract a mate. Despite being popular in the pet trade, wild populations are stable, and they are not currently considered threatened.
