Blue-chinned Sapphire, Chlorestes notata, is a hummingbird found in South America from Colombia to eastern Brazil and Amazonia. It is associated with forests and also appears in cultivated places where large trees are present. In Brazil, its range follows the Amazon River basin and reaches the Atlantic Forest, including the north-east and the south-east coastal strip. The female places her eggs in a deep cup nest built from lichen and other fine plant material and set on a horizontal branch. It was described by Reich in 1793.
