Blue-crowned Trogon, Trogon curucui, is a bird of central and eastern South America, with its breeding range in those parts of the continent. It belongs to the trogon family, Trogonidae, and was described by Linnaeus in 1766. The species is sexually dimorphic. Males show a blue head with an orange eye-ring, while females have a grey head and a broken white ring around the eye. Its range includes Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Peru.
