Blue-fronted Amazon

Amazona aestiva

The Blue-fronted Amazon, scientifically known as Amazona aestiva, is a vibrant parrot species native to South America. These medium-sized parrots are known for their striking blue frontal area, yellow face, and green plumage. They are highly social birds and often form large flocks in their natural habitat. Blue-fronted Amazons are primarily found in tropical and subtropical forests, savannas, and woodland areas. They are skilled vocal mimics and have a diverse repertoire of calls and sounds. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, the conservation status of the Blue-fronted Amazon is currently listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
