Blue Grosbeak

Passerina caerulea

The Blue Grosbeak is a medium-sized songbird found in North and Central America. It is known for its striking blue plumage, with the male displaying a vibrant blue color and the female having a more subdued brownish-blue hue. These birds are often found in open habitats such as grasslands, shrubby areas, and forest edges. They are known for their melodious songs and are often seen perched on elevated spots while singing. Blue Grosbeaks primarily feed on seeds, insects, and berries. Their populations are considered stable, but they may face threats from habitat loss and pesticide use.
