Blue-headed Sapphire, Chrysuronia grayi, is a hummingbird that breeds in western Colombia and northern Ecuador. It occurs in inter-Andean valleys from Valle del Cauca south to Pichincha, using dry scrub, woodland edges, taller forest margins and cultivated land. It is a member of the Trochilidae family and was described by Delattre and Bourcier in 1846. The species is placed in Chrysuronia and is monotypic. It has been recorded making notable seasonal movements, and breeding birds have been noted from November to April.
