Ceuthmochares aereus (Vieillot, 1817)

Blue Malkoha, Ceuthmochares aereus, is a cuckoo of western and central Africa, breeding across the tropical rainforest belt. It belongs to the family Cuculidae and was described by Vieillot in 1817. The bird has a greyish head, throat and belly, with a strong yellow bill. Its plumage varies between subspecies, with greenish and blue tones in the tail, wings and back in one form, and blue in those parts in the other. It is an uncommon, secretive species that is rarely seen.
