Blue-moustached Bee-eater, Merops mentalis, is a bird of the family Meropidae that breeds in Africa from Sierra Leone to western Cameroon and on Bioko Island. It was described by Cabanis in 1889. It belongs to the order Coraciiformes and is part of the bee-eater family. Its range is tied to the Upper Guinean forests and the Western High Plateau, where it occurs in submontane and upland rainforest. It is a small, dark bee-eater with a purplish-blue body and a chestnut mantle, back and wings.
