Anous ceruleus
The Blue Noddy, also known as the Blue-grey Noddy, is a seabird found in tropical and subtropical oceans. It has a distinctive pale grey plumage with a slightly darker head and upperparts. This species is known for its graceful flight and agile diving skills, which it uses to catch small fish and squid. Blue Noddies are colonial breeders, nesting in large numbers on remote islands. They are highly social birds and often form large flocks at sea. Despite facing threats from habitat destruction and predation by invasive species on some breeding islands, the Blue Noddy is currently considered to be of Least Concern by the IUCN.
