The Blue-streaked Lory is a striking parrot species native to the islands of Indonesia. It is known for its vibrant plumage, featuring a combination of blue, green, and red colors. These medium-sized parrots are highly social and often found in flocks, displaying acrobatic flight patterns and playful behaviors. They primarily feed on nectar, pollen, and fruits, using their specialized brush-tipped tongues to extract nectar from flowers. Their habitat includes lowland forests, mangroves, and coconut plantations. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade, the Blue-streaked Lory is classified as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
