Blue-throated Toucanet

Blue-throated Toucanet, Aulacorhynchus wagleri, is a toucan of montane country in southern Mexico and Central America. It lives in humid mountain forest and also uses secondary growth, shrubland, pasture and plantations. This bird is one of the green toucanets, with a large bill and a mainly green body. The sexes look alike, though the female is usually smaller and has a shorter bill. It is non-migratory and often moves in groups of up to about 10. Its breeding season runs from March to July, and it nests in tree cavities, including old woodpecker holes.
