Bluish-slate Antshrike, Thamnomanes schistogynus, is a passerine of the antbird family in c Peru and sw Amazonia, with its breeding range also extending through South America. It was described by Hellmayr in 1911. The species lives in the understorey and mid-storey of evergreen forest, especially where bamboo and vine tangles are plentiful. It is found in terra firme and várzea forest, and in most places occurs below 800 m, though it can reach 1,200 m. The nominate form has the wider range, and a second subspecies occurs in central Peru.
