Boa Nova Tapaculo, Scytalopus gonzagai, is a passerine bird of south-east Brazil, confined to Bahia in the Atlantic Forest. It occurs in five forest fragments in mountainous country, with records from Arataca, Boa Nova and Iguaí. The bird is usually found in dense cover or in branches close to the ground, no higher than 2 metres. It was recognised as a distinct species in 2014 after earlier confusion with related tapaculos. It is also known locally as Macuquinho-preto-baiano.
