Bobolink, Dolichonyx oryzivorus, is a passerine in the Icteridae family that breeds in southern Canada and northern USA and spends the nonbreeding season in central South America. It is the only species in the genus Dolichonyx. An old name for it is rice bird, a label linked to its use of cultivated grain during winter and on migration. The species was described by Linnaeus in 1758.
