Bocage's Akalat

Bocage's Akalat, Sheppardia bocagei, is a bird of the family Muscicapidae that breeds in south-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and western Tanzania, extending to western Angola and northern Zambia. It is associated with boreal forests, dry tropical forest, tropical swamps and moist montane forest. The name honours the Portuguese naturalist José Vicente Barbosa du Bocage. It was once treated as the same species as the short-tailed akalat, but the IOC recognised them as separate in 2021.
