Bold-striped Tit-Babbler

Mixornis bornensis Bonaparte, 1850

Bold-striped Tit-Babbler, Mixornis bornensis, is a passerine in the Timaliidae family and breeds in the Oriental Region on islands east of the Malay Peninsula, as well as Sumatra, Java and Borneo. It is found in Borneo and Java. Its most notable features are a yellowish supercilium, a rufous crown and a throat marked with brown streaks. It forages in small flocks and moves through low vegetation by creeping and clambering. It breeds from February to July and makes a loose, ball-shaped nest from grasses and leaves.
