Bolton's Sunbird

Aethopyga boltoni

Bolton's Sunbird (Aethopyga boltoni) is a small, vibrantly colored bird found in the montane forests of the Philippines. The male displays a striking combination of metallic green, blue, and red plumage, while the female has more subdued olive-green and yellow tones. These sunbirds are known for their acrobatic flight patterns and their ability to feed on nectar from various flowers. They also consume insects and spiders as part of their diet. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the population of Bolton's Sunbird is declining, and it is currently considered vulnerable to extinction.
