Bonin Thrush, Zoothera terrestris, is a thrush of the Bonin Islands in the western Pacific, recorded from Chichi-jima in the Ogasawara Islands of Japan. It was described by Kittlitz in 1830 and belongs to the family Turdidae in the order Passeriformes. The bird is extinct and was known only from a single naturalist’s encounter. It was found in coastal woodland and spent much of its time on the ground. Ground nesting has been suggested. The surviving specimens are held in museums in Leiden, Vienna, Frankfurt and St. Petersburg.
