Boreal Chickadee, Poecile hudsonicus, is a passerine in the tit family that breeds across northern North America, especially in boreal forest and conifer woods in Alaska, Canada and the northern United States. It stays in this broad region through the year, though some birds move south in winter. It is recognised by its high-pitched trill and other contact notes, and by its habit of caching food for the colder months. It nests in tree holes, often in natural cavities or old woodpecker sites, and the pair may remain together all year.
