Bornean Forktail

Enicurus borneensis Sharpe, 1889

Bornean Forktail, Enicurus borneensis, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae family and breeds in montane Borneo in the Oriental Region. It was described by Sharpe in 1889. It is a Bornean bird of streamside places in montane primary forest, and it is part of the Old World flycatcher group. It is closely allied to the white-crowned forktail, but it has been separated from that bird on the basis of mitochondrial DNA, a smaller white forehead area that stops short of the crown, a longer tail with four white tail patches rather than five, different calls, and its mountain and submontane habitat.
