This species is a master of camouflage, often perching motionless on tree branches during the day, resembling a broken tree stump. Its diet primarily consists of insects and small vertebrates. The Bornean Frogmouth is a solitary bird, and its haunting calls can be heard echoing through the forest at night. Due to habitat loss and deforestation, the conservation status of this species is currently listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
