Tachymarptis aequatorialis

Bradfield's swift (Tachymarptis aequatorialis) is a medium-sized swift found in the highlands of central Africa. This species is known for its impressive aerial acrobatics, often seen darting and wheeling through the skies in search of flying insects. Bradfield's swift has a dark plumage and a distinctive white rump patch, making it easily identifiable in flight. These birds are highly adapted for a life spent almost entirely on the wing, with long, slender wings and a streamlined body. They are known to roost and nest in caves and crevices in cliffs, particularly in mountainous regions. The conservation status of Bradfield's swift is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
