Brambling

Fringilla polatzeki

The Brambling (Fringilla polatzeki) is a small passerine bird in the finch family. It is known for its striking plumage, with a black head, orange breast, and white belly. During the breeding season, it can be found in the coniferous forests of northern Europe and Asia. In winter, it migrates to southern Europe and Asia, often forming large flocks with other finches. Bramblings are primarily seed-eaters, feeding on a variety of seeds and grains. They are known for their distinctive 'tinkling' call and are often seen foraging on the ground. Although not globally threatened, habitat loss and changes in agricultural practices are potential threats to their populations.
