Brandt's Mountain Finch

Leucosticte brandti

Brandt's Mountain Finch is a small passerine bird found in the high-altitude mountain ranges of Central Asia. It has a distinctive pinkish-red plumage on its head, throat, and breast, with a contrasting grayish-brown back and wings. This species is well-adapted to the harsh alpine environment, often foraging for seeds and insects among rocky slopes and scree fields. During the breeding season, they build cup-shaped nests in rock crevices or among alpine vegetation. Brandt's Mountain Finch is known for its resilience in extreme cold and high elevations, making it a remarkable example of adaptation to mountainous habitats.
