Brass's Friarbird, Philemon brassi, is a honeyeater found in the Mamberamo Basin in north-west New Guinea. It is part of the family Meliphagidae and was described by Rand in 1940. Its breeding range is in Australasia. The bird lives in moist lowland forest and swamp habitat. Its name honours the Australian botanist Leonard J. Brass, who worked for the Queensland Herbarium.
