Brewer's Sparrow

Spizella breweri

Brewer's Sparrow is a small, inconspicuous bird found in the western United States and parts of Canada. It is known for its subtle plumage and distinctive song. This sparrow is often found in open, arid habitats such as sagebrush plains, grasslands, and scrubby areas. It forages on the ground for seeds and insects, and its cryptic coloration provides camouflage from predators. Brewer's Sparrow is a migratory species, spending winters in the southwestern United States and Mexico. Despite its unassuming appearance, this species plays an important role in its ecosystem as a seed disperser and prey for various predators.
