Broad-billed Hummingbird, Cynanthus latirostris, breeds across the south-western USA and central Mexico in North America and Middle America. A hummingbird in the family Trochilidae and order Apodiformes, it was described by Swainson in 1827. It is identified by its broad red bill, and males also show a blue gorget. The sexes differ in appearance, and young birds look more like adult females than adult males. It is active in daylight and less active at night.
